Digital Inputs, PTOs and More

is that siren on?

On and Off status, live! :: Two trucks with refrigetared chambers engine ON (green bar inside the icon) Our GPS tracking units have multiple digital and analog inputs, which gives us the ability to monitor different vehicle components beside the engine (anything with a 12-volt status change). With a single wire we can monitor when a switch is on or off, so your Fleet Manager can generate reports on these components usage. In addition, an icon displayed on the Fleet Management screen shows the real-time status of the input. The most common use for the digital inputs is to monitor PTO (power take-off) status. We do this by attaching the tracker digital input to the PTO status light in the cab of the vehicle.

Some other examples of what we can monitor are:
  • Doors
  • Sirens
  • Garbage trucks
  • Pony motors
  • High pressure washers
  • Street Sweepers
  • Tow truck flatbeds
